The streets fill with independent traders, artisan stalls, street food vendors and local businesses, creating a lively market that has become a favourite weekend destination for both locals and visitors. Whether you're searching for something unique or simply looking for somewhere to spend a sunny afternoon, it's the sort of place that rewards taking your time.
We recently visited ourselves and came away genuinely surprised by the variety on offer.
One of the biggest draws of Bournemouth's Sunday Market is its fantastic mix of independent traders.
As you wander through the market you'll discover everything from handmade gifts and artwork to jewellery, home décor, clothing and speciality products. No two stalls feel the same, with every trader bringing their own personality and creativity.
It's a refreshing change from the familiar high street, offering visitors the chance to support local businesses while finding items that simply aren't available in larger chain stores.
Food plays a huge part in the experience.
During our visit we found everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to international street food, homemade drinks and indulgent desserts. One stall was serving freshly prepared chocolate covered strawberries, while another offered traditional pick and mix sweets. Fresh lemonade, hot food and global flavours meant there was something for every taste.
Whether you're stopping for lunch or simply grabbing something sweet while you browse, the market makes eating part of the day out rather than just a pit stop.
The market has a real community feel.

Combined with Bournemouth Gardens, the beach just a short walk away and the surrounding cafés and restaurants, it's easy to spend several hours enjoying everything the area has to offer.
