It makes a Cherries matchday feel distinctly Bournemouth - and means there is plenty you can do before and after the football too.
Whether you are heading to your first AFC Bournemouth game, bringing the family or travelling down to watch your team play away, here is everything you need to know before visiting the Vitality Stadium.
The home of AFC Bournemouth is the Vitality Stadium, Kings Park, Bournemouth, BH7 7AF.
You may also hear the ground referred to as Dean Court, its historic name, and some road signs around Bournemouth still use Dean Court when directing drivers towards the stadium.
The stadium is in the Kings Park area, close to Boscombe and Pokesdown rather than directly in Bournemouth town centre.
That is worth remembering when planning your day. Bournemouth's main shopping, beach and nightlife areas are further west, while Boscombe and Pokesdown provide some of the closest places for food and drink before kick-off.
Pokesdown is the closest railway station to the Vitality Stadium. The club estimates the walk from Pokesdown to the ground at around 15 minutes.
However, Pokesdown station is not currently wheelchair accessible.
Many longer-distance services instead arrive at Bournemouth railway station. From there, the club estimates that walking to the stadium takes around 25 minutes via Holdenhurst Road and Kings Park Drive.
If you are arriving early, Bournemouth station can actually work well if you want to make more of the day, particularly if you plan to head into the town centre before travelling towards the stadium.
Public transport is another useful option on busy matchdays.
The club currently highlights Morebus services connecting Bournemouth, Boscombe and Pokesdown with the area around the stadium, including services towards Boscombe's Ashley Road, around a five-minute walk from the ground.
Because routes and timetables can change, check the latest journey information before travelling.
If you are driving, use BH7 7AF for the Vitality Stadium and look out for the brown football signs as you approach Kings Park.
Traffic naturally becomes much busier close to kick-off, so this is one matchday where arriving early makes a noticeable difference.

Parking immediately around the Vitality Stadium is limited, and this is one part of your trip we would plan before leaving home rather than dealing with once you arrive.
The South Stand car park behind the stadium is operated by BCP Council and is chargeable. AFC Bournemouth advises that it can reach capacity approximately 75 minutes before kick-off and warns that leaving after the match can take up to around 45 minutes.
The club also currently identifies Avonbourne Academies as a free matchday parking option around a ten-minute walk away. Around 200 spaces are available, although opening times differ between weekend and weekday fixtures.
There are parking restrictions on several residential streets around Kings Park, and matchday enforcement takes place, so do not assume that a space on a nearby road is available simply because it is empty.

If it is your first visit, we would avoid arriving ten minutes before kick-off.
AFC Bournemouth currently opens the Vitality Stadium turnstiles 90 minutes before kick-off, giving supporters time to enter the concourse and use the food, drink and toilet facilities before the game begins.
Arriving around an hour beforehand gives you considerably more breathing room, particularly for a sold-out Premier League fixture.
It also gives you time to enjoy the build-up around Kings Park rather than spending the opening minutes of the match trying to get through a queue.

AFC Bournemouth has been moving towards digital ticketing, with match tickets accessed through the official AFC Bournemouth app for applicable fixtures. The club advises supporters using digital tickets to have the latest version of the app installed and to log in using their online ticketing account details.
For digital tickets, QR codes may only become visible closer to kick-off, and screenshots of the QR code are not accepted.
Ticketing arrangements can vary by fixture, so always check the information issued by AFC Bournemouth for your particular match before setting off.
One advantage of the Vitality Stadium's location is that you do not necessarily have to eat inside the ground.
Boscombe and Pokesdown are both close by, with cafés, pubs, takeaways and restaurants dotted along Christchurch Road and the surrounding streets.
If you are travelling from Bournemouth town centre, you also have a much wider selection of restaurants and bars before heading towards Kings Park.

The stands sit close to the pitch, so you feel near the action even without being in the most expensive seats.
Once the turnstiles open, the concourse provides food and drink facilities along with toilets before supporters take their seats.

If you are travelling any distance, it seems a shame to arrive in Bournemouth, watch 90 minutes of football and immediately head home.
