The Alpine Lodge in Bournemouth is located in the heart of the town centre at The Square, BH2 6ED. It is part of the annual Christmas in Bournemouth celebrations and the popular Christmas Market, creating a festive hub in the middle of town. The venue is styled as a cosy Alpine retreat, offering a warm and atmospheric escape during the winter season.
The lodge opens every day from 11 in the morning until 11 at night throughout the Christmas market period. Walk-ins are welcome, but booking a table or booth is recommended, especially on busy evenings or weekends when the market is at its liveliest.
Inside the Alpine Lodge, visitors will find a vibrant, festive atmosphere filled with rustic décor, fairy lights, and winter charm. The experience includes beer towers, mulled wine, and other seasonal drinks served in a lodge-style setting. Outside, artificial snow occasionally falls to create a magical “white Christmas” feel for everyone in the square.
The venue hosts regular themed nights and entertainment. Mondays feature a lively quiz night at 7pm, Wednesdays bring karaoke upstairs, Thursdays are dedicated to bingo, and Sundays include live acoustic music from five until eight in the evening. Each event draws a mix of locals and visitors, making the lodge a social focal point of the Christmas Market.
Families are welcome before six in the evening, but after that time the venue operates as adults only, and under eighteens are not allowed upstairs. Dogs on a lead are welcome on the ground floor. The Alpine Lodge operates a cashless policy, accepting only card payments. Guests are advised to dress warmly and comfortably since parts of the venue are semi-outdoor and open to the winter air.
For groups, there are booth packages for up to six people and a private Après Hütte option that accommodates ten to twelve guests inside a heated ski-gondola-style cabin. Booking these in advance is recommended for larger parties. Accessibility may be limited upstairs, but the ground floor offers buggy storage and easy access.
Overall, the Alpine Lodge offers a festive and welcoming experience right in the centre of Bournemouth. Whether you are stopping by for a hot drink, joining one of the themed nights, or planning a group gathering, it delivers a cosy alpine atmosphere with all the charm of the Christmas season.
