New Members

Anyone thinking about joining Westbourne Running Club is welcome to attend a few runs first and see whether the club is right for them.

The more relaxed social runs can be particularly useful for those joining for the first time, while experienced runners can take advantage of structured sessions including intervals, hills and track training.

The club aims to support a broad range of runners, from people working towards their first 5K to those competing regularly in races.

Racing with Westbourne RC

Westbourne Running Club regularly takes part in races across Dorset and the surrounding area.

The club competes in the Dorset Road Race League, with members also taking part in races connected with the Purbeck Trail Series and other local road and trail events.

Selected races are included in the club's own championships, giving members the chance to accumulate points across the season.

Westbourne RC also runs an Off Road Series, providing another option for members who enjoy trail and mixed-terrain racing.

Race days form an important part of the club's social side too, with members travelling, racing and supporting one another at events throughout the year.

UK Athletics Affiliation

Westbourne Running Club is affiliated with UK Athletics.

Full club membership includes UK Athletics registration, which can provide discounted entry fees for eligible races.

Social Side

The club is not solely focused on racing and performance.

Social runs are a regular part of the calendar, alongside occasional social events, giving members plenty of opportunities to meet other local runners.

Routes take members across Westbourne and the wider Bournemouth and Poole area, with everything from easy conversational runs to longer social outings.

Training Times

There is no single weekly training time, as sessions change throughout the month.

The club calendar includes morning, lunchtime and evening sessions at different locations.
