There’s a brand-new event coming to Bournemouth this November - and it offers a colourful alternative to the traditional firework display.
The Big Glow Show will take over Shelley Park on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November 2026, bringing two evenings of lasers, live music and family entertainment to the clifftop setting.
With no fireworks and no loud bangs, the new event has been designed for those who still want to enjoy the excitement of Bonfire Night season without a traditional firework display.
At the heart of the evening will be three large-scale laser shows, each choreographed to a different musical soundtrack.
The first will feature well-known family favourites, followed by a feel-good selection of classics. The final display will bring the evening to an energetic close with R&B and Motown music.
Visitors can also expect fire performers, circus acts, hula-hoop artists and live singers throughout the evening, creating a full programme of entertainment rather than one single display.
Alongside the live performances, The Big Glow Show will include hot food vendors, a licensed bar and a small fairground.
It sounds like a lovely new addition to Bournemouth’s autumn calendar, particularly for families looking for something a little different during the traditional Bonfire Night weekend.
Although the event does not feature loud fireworks, visitors who are sensitive to bright or flashing lights should be aware that lasers, performance lighting and fire displays form a central part of the show.
