The Rotary Club of Westbourne brings together Bournemouth residents, professionals and business owners who want to support worthwhile causes while building lasting friendships. Members organise fundraising events, community improvements, food projects and support for young people locally and overseas. The club meets every Thursday, alternating between online meetings and breakfast gatherings at the Collingwood Hotel, with additional social events and volunteering opportunities throughout the year.

The Rotary Club of Westbourne is a volunteer-led organisation bringing together people who want to improve their community, support charities and help address wider humanitarian needs.
Chartered in 1995, the club follows Rotary’s international motto, “Service Above Self.” Members contribute their time, experience and professional skills to projects across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, as well as initiatives elsewhere in the UK and overseas.
Its charitable work is conducted through the Westbourne Rotary Club Trust Fund CIO, registered charity number 1197774.
The club meets at 7.30am every Thursday, alternating between online and in-person meetings:
Breakfast meetings normally finish at approximately 8.30am. Different breakfast and drinks-only options are available at the hotel.
Prospective members are encouraged to arrange a guest visit, particularly to a meeting focused on the club’s current projects and events.

The club also supports educational opportunities through its Reach High Fund, which is intended to help young people experiencing financial barriers to further education, higher education, vocational training or employment.

Members organise and support fundraising events throughout the year.
The club is one of the principal organisers of the Rotary Dorset Bike Ride and has also worked with other local Rotary clubs to deliver seasonal activities such as the volunteer-run Santa’s Grotto in Boscombe.
Money raised has supported organisations including Bournemouth Foodbank, Dorset Mind, Julia’s House, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, Cancer Research UK and other community causes.

Membership is open to adults aged 18 and over who want to help others and work alongside people with similar values.
Members come from a mixture of professional, business and community backgrounds. You do not have to be retired or hold a particular job, although you should be willing to contribute to suitable meetings, projects or events.
The club states that members can become involved as much or as little as their circumstances allow.
The current annual membership fee is £110, with a one-off joining fee of £15. The joining fee contributes towards new-member information and a Rotary membership pin.
Breakfast, social events and some activities may involve additional costs.
The club also offers corporate membership for local organisations. One employee becomes the full Rotary member, while up to four named colleagues can participate as alternate members.
