Family Halloween events in Bournemouth

Families can choose from museum trails, Halloween crafts and an organised party on Bournemouth Pier. More attractions are expected to announce their half-term programmes closer to October.

Haunting Half-Term at the Russell-Cotes

The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum is holding a week of family Halloween activities from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026.

Children can search for ghosts on a trail through the historic house, follow a spooky garden trail and take part in Halloween-themed garden games. The outdoor games are dependent on suitable weather.

Drop-in craft sessions will run from 10.30am until 1pm on:

  • Tuesday 27 October
  • Wednesday 28 October
  • Thursday 29 October

Children can choose a Halloween craft to complete and take home. The sessions cost £4.50 per child, do not require advance booking and are not suitable for children under three.

The trails are free, but visitors must purchase a normal museum admission ticket to enter the historic house and complete the indoor trail.

Music from Tim Burton’s distinctive films will fill St Peter’s Church on Saturday 31 October 2026.

The historic Grade I-listed church provides an appropriately atmospheric setting for this candlelit Halloween performance.

Pumpkin picking near Bournemouth

There is not currently a confirmed pick-your-own pumpkin field within Bournemouth itself. However, several pumpkin events are taking place within a short drive of the town.

Nearby options include:

  • Southbourne Pumpkin Fest - a community event with a pumpkin trail and carving competition rather than a pick-your-own field.
  • Gullivers Farm in West Moors - pick-your-own pumpkins from 10 to 30 October, with Pumpkin Fest activities at weekends.
  • Farmer Palmer’s near Poole - Halloween half-term activities and seasonal farm entertainment from 24 October to 1 November.

These events are covered in our separate Southbourne, Christchurch and Poole Halloween guides.
