When we think about shopping in Bournemouth, the town centre’s arcades and independent shops may come to mind first. However, for convenience, variety and larger retailers, Castlepoint offers a very different experience.
Located just off Castle Lane West, the shopping park brings together fashion, homeware, beauty, technology, supermarkets and places to eat across a large, open-air site.
It is particularly useful when we want to visit several major retailers in one trip without travelling into Bournemouth town centre. With extensive free parking and bus connections from the surrounding area, Castlepoint is also one of Bournemouth’s most accessible shopping destinations.

Sunday trading hours for some larger shops may begin at 10.30am, with browsing permitted beforehand. Supermarkets, B&Q and individual retailers may open earlier or close later than the main centre. Bank holiday hours can also vary.

Castlepoint provides more than 2,800 parking spaces, with parking currently free for up to four hours.
The four-hour limit applies across the site and is monitored. Visitors should take care not to overstay, even if they leave one section of Castlepoint and park elsewhere within the shopping park.
If you need to remain for longer than four hours, visit the Castlepoint management office, located below JD Sports, to ask about extending your stay. Arrange this during your visit rather than waiting until the four-hour period has expired.

Castlepoint is situated on Castle Lane West, approximately three miles northeast of central Bournemouth.
From Bournemouth town centre, follow the A338 Wessex Way and leave at the Cooper Dean junction, following signs for the A3060 and Castlepoint. Continue along Castle Lane West until reaching the shopping park.
From Southampton and the New Forest, follow the M27 and A31 towards Bournemouth before joining the A338. Leave at the junction signposted for the A3060 and follow the Castlepoint signs.
Because the centre is spread across different sections and parking levels, it can help to check which part of the park your chosen shop occupies before arriving.
Bus stops are located around Hamblin Way and Castle Lane, with services connecting Castlepoint to Bournemouth town centre, Bournemouth railway station, Poole and surrounding residential areas.

Castlepoint’s open-air design includes pedestrian routes between its different retail sections, although the size of the site means a shopping trip can involve a considerable amount of walking.
