Bournemouth Joggers is a women-only running club with approximately 60 members ranging from women in their twenties to those aged over 60.
The club aims to make running enjoyable, safe and sociable while giving every member the opportunity to challenge herself and make progress. Some members focus on becoming fitter or running more consistently, while others train for organised races and longer distances.
A strong emphasis is placed on running together. Sessions are supported by qualified Run Leaders, with the club aiming to ensure that nobody has to run alone.

The club’s principal training nights are:
Regular Friday morning sessions may also be available, alongside informal group runs and social runs on Sundays.

Members receive information about the forthcoming sessions each week and can book onto the runs they would like to attend. This helps the club ensure that enough qualified Run Leaders are available.
Bournemouth Joggers does not use one permanent meeting point for every session. Runs take place at different locations around Bournemouth, including:
Additional routes may be introduced during the lighter summer evenings. The precise location and planned activity are shared with members through the club’s private WhatsApp and Facebook groups.
New runners should therefore contact the club rather than arriving at a location without arranging a session first.
The club is suitable for women who would like to improve their fitness, pace, distance or confidence while running as part of a supportive group.
To get the most from its regular sessions, Bournemouth Joggers recommends being able to run approximately three miles comfortably. You do not need to be particularly fast or have previous racing experience.
Some track and improver sessions can be adapted for different abilities. Women who cannot yet run three miles are encouraged to complete the NHS Couch to 5K programme before joining a regular club session.
Prospective members can arrange one free introductory session before deciding whether to join.
