Bonfire Night is set to light up Bournemouth once again this November, with traditional fireworks, live music, fairground entertainment and a colourful new alternative for anyone who would rather avoid the loud bangs.
The main Bournemouth fireworks event returns to Littledown Centre on Saturday 7 November, while The Big Glow Show brings lasers, fire performers and live entertainment to Shelley Park on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November.

Bournemouth’s biggest traditional Bonfire Night celebration returns to Littledown Centre with three separate firework displays in one evening.
Gates open at 5pm, allowing plenty of time to explore the entertainment before the first display begins at 7pm. Further displays follow at 8pm and 9pm, with the final White Knuckle show traditionally offering the loudest and most dramatic experience of the night.
This year’s programme also includes live music from Bon Jovi tribute band Born Jovi, fire performers, a large funfair, food stalls and free “have a go” sporting activities. An indoor family area provides additional activities and some shelter if the November weather turns.
Launch-price tickets are advertised at £8 for adults, £6 for children and £23 for a family ticket, with children under three admitted free. Booking fees apply, and prices may increase closer to the event.
Tickets can also be purchased with cash at the gate, subject to availability, but advance tickets provide fast-track entry. Children must be accompanied by an adult and pets are not permitted.

The Big Glow Show offers a colourful alternative to a conventional Bonfire Night display, replacing fireworks and loud explosions with choreographed lasers, music and live performances.
Three different laser shows will take place during each evening. The first uses familiar family favourites, followed by a feel-good selection of classics and a final display accompanied by R&B and Motown music.
Fire performers, circus entertainers, hula-hoop artists and live singers complete the programme, while visitors can also find hot food, a licensed bar and a small fairground.
The lack of traditional fireworks could make this a more appealing option for families and visitors who find loud bangs uncomfortable. However, the event will include lasers, bright illumination, flashing lights and fire effects, which may not suit everyone with visual or sensory sensitivities.

Poole Quay provides a waterfront setting for one of the area’s most popular free displays. Live music, family entertainment and activities begin at 5pm before fireworks are launched over Poole Harbour at 8pm.
The Quay and nearby car parks become extremely busy. Organisers recommend considering parking at The Dolphin or Harbourside Park instead of relying on the closest Quay parking.

For a different view of the Poole display, Coastal Cruises is running a special evening sailing through Poole Harbour. The boat will position itself so passengers can watch the fireworks from the water, with the illuminated Quay forming the backdrop.
Advance booking is essential as spaces aboard the cruise are limited.
