Boscombe Market is a traditional open-air street market held every Thursday and Saturday in the pedestrianised section of Christchurch Road. Visitors can browse stalls selling fresh produce, food, clothing, plants, jewellery and household goods in the centre of Boscombe’s shopping district. Entry is free, with nearby bus stops, town-centre parking and local shops making it easy to combine the market with a wider visit to Boscombe.

Every Thursday and Saturday
9am - 3pm
Boscombe Market has operated in the town’s pedestrianised shopping area since the early 1990s. Its central position makes it easy to visit alongside Boscombe’s high-street shops, cafés and the nearby Royal Arcade.
Unlike a specialist makers’ market, the selection combines traditional market goods with food and everyday products. The traders attending may vary between market days, so visitors should not expect exactly the same stalls every Thursday and Saturday.

Depending on the traders attending, stalls may include:
Food choices have previously included Brazilian, Thai and Indian dishes. Individual traders and products can change, so availability is not guaranteed on every market day.
Parking is available at the Sovereign Centre and in other public and private car parks around Boscombe town centre.
Parking charges, time limits and payment methods can change. Check the signs carefully when arriving rather than relying on previously published prices.
Boscombe Bus Station and several stops on Christchurch Road are close to the market. Services connect Boscombe with Bournemouth town centre, Southbourne, Christchurch, Castlepoint and surrounding areas.
Pokesdown railway station is approximately a 15-20-minute walk from the market. The station does not provide step-free access to its platforms, so passengers with mobility requirements should check National Rail accessibility information before travelling.
The market is held outdoors in a pedestrianised shopping area with generally level paved approaches.
As an open-air event, temporary stalls, other shoppers and poor weather may occasionally make movement more difficult. BCP Council’s Shopmobility service is based on the lower-ground level of the Sovereign Centre and provides mobility equipment for eligible visitors.
Anyone with specific access requirements should contact the market operator or Shopmobility before travelling.
As the market is held in an open pedestrian area, dog owners should keep their dog under close control and be considerate around food stalls and busy walkways.
Boscombe Market normally operates every Thursday and Saturday from 9am until 3pm. Stallholders and product availability vary, while severe weather and public holidays can affect trading.
